My Tull News

I am now only ONE album away from having a "complete" collection of Jethro Tull albums.  The CD that keeps eluding me is the 1980 release entitled "A".  I currently have 35 Jethro Tull CDs, but I can't seem to get a good deal on "A".  I've been scouring eBay for months now.  I've seen it (in mint condition with reasonable shipping charges) go for as little as $14.95 and as high as $32.00.  I keep trying to get it for under $18.00 +s/h.  Wish me luck.

I had the fortune to see Jethro Tull in person on Wednesday July 22nd, 1998. They played at the Arial Theater here in Houston. My brother, Nathan, and I got to sneak in during the intermission. The security wasn't letting people back in, but we got two ticket stubs from a couple that was leaving. I got to the door and told the security girl that I forgot to buy a shirt, and to just let me in to buy a shirt. Well, she did and I went to the patio where people were smoking and laughed at my brother and friend who were still standing outside. My brother then went to the door and told the same security girl that he was waiting for someone to leave and they hadn't come out yet. So he asked if he could come back in to look for his friend. She let him in too. My friend didn't have the same luck. He got a ticket stub too, but couldn't convince the security guard to let him back in. So, my brother and I watched the second half in ecstasy. We were very lucky that night. The stubs we got were seventh row orchestra level. That's the closest I've sat in ANY concert. During the encore Nathan and I stood right in front of the stage. It was a GREAT show. I had seen Tull in '92 at the Cynthia Woods Pavilion just north of Houston. But back then I only owned three Tull albums, and they only played ONE song that I recognized. This show I knew almost every song. The ONE complaint that I do have of the concert is that the Ariel Theater only seats 2,600. Where as the Cynthia Woods Pavilions seats around 14,000. The show was sold out and I was unable to buy a ticket. In 1992 at the Pavilion it wasn't sold out, but there were nearly 11,000 fans there. Other than that I loved the show.
